Our Lives 02:55
We struggle through our lives trying to find someone to love do the right things, pull the right strings, have something to be proud of. The truth is sometimes too hard to accept and too hard to believe The excuses that we make are not much better, it's the lies that make us leave. We're all in this together, let's step into the light The music is getting louder, let's dance into the night Let's accept that life is a one way trip and there is no second time, that life is full of joy and not an endless ladder climb Let's rise above the modern struggles, do the things that really matter Listen to our hearts and try to find our way back home We're all in this together, let's step into the light The music is getting louder, let's dance into the night

In the morning she was gone, in the morning there were lawyers, investigations and interviews Nobody knew exactly what had happened, the police were all over, some guys were accused She had been pretty unclear, she had seemed kind of scared, she had left before anyone knew she was gone for two weeks before she reappeared When she came back to town everything had changed, it seemed kind of strange She was nervous and anxious, aware and afraid I remember all the coffee, I remember all the talk, I remember all the nights and all my dreams In the flickering bar light she'd mentioned the plot and told me to not intervene There was something she feared, she packed up her gear and told me to forget what I had seen She was gone for two weeks before she reappeared When she came back to town everything had changed, it seemed kind of strange She was nervous and anxious, aware and afraid

We're all pretty good actors, I guess we all know the truth We just get better at lying with our briefcases and suits We all made this happen, we crushed one another, competition and ambitions just made us all smaller She kissed me and told me to forget what i had seen I grew up and I suddenly woke up from my dream We always knew the words, but not the music We always knew the truth, but never spoke Every stage, every night, all the crowds, all the lights When we're in the spotlight we do what they want us to do Every day, every time, every word, every line when the spotlight is on us, we repeat all these lies Between the nights and the glory are all the days of regret All these parties and stories, all this coffee and cigarettes I dream about a truth and I dream about a dance where we all come together and we all raise our hands Pick up the guitars and sing it out loud let's make our own music, let's sing to the crowd We always knew the words, let's play the music We always knew the truth, it's time to speak Every stage, every night, all the crowds, all the lights When we're in the spotlight we sing all these tunes Every day, every time, every word, every line The spotlight is on us and we tell them the truth

City Nights 04:11
He caught up with his dreams, they were a sad kind of paradise He had a vague look in his eyes, he was roaming the streets in the violet dark of the city nights He was crossing crosses on a red light streak, he was fleeing his painful memories In the sweet night under street lights all he did was die Let's raise a toast, let's raise our hands, let's have a drink with our best friends and make this night the better of the worst and as we search for love, let's try to love the search, this is one way flight, let's try to make it work Embrace the happy moments of our lives In his search for salvation, in his search for success he got lost in all the lights, he was crushed and depressed He reflected on his life and the sadness of the modern man His nerves were shot and his eyes were dry when the devil found him for the second time In the sad night under bar lights he finally heard band Let's raise a toast, let's raise our hands, let's have a drink with our best friends and make this night the better of the worst and as we search for love, let's try to love the search, this is one way flight, let's try to make it work Embrace the happy moments of our lives

Two Of Us 04:14
Her house was on a hill on the south side of town We used to lie down on the floor, make jokes and drink wine We used to walk up to the mountain top and look down on the city With the soft breeze in her hair, she looked so pretty I can still feel the touch of her hand Killing time, killing pain killing hope, hope I don't go insane A cross is just a symbol and it dissolves right into dust Have you seen my heart? It's turning into rust I've got a photo of the two of us singing in the rain Crystal never made it, I guess I had my doubts She went to see the northern lights, I went down south She wanted truth, but she didn't want the pain, It was too hard accept and it was too hard to explain All these scars and all these stories are all that remain
6.
She came to me with a confession and a valuable possession She was a little confused, had that beautiful expression She was better than she said and she said she was better than anyone else in the matter of this question I was loosing control when I picked up the ball I made her the receiver when I made her that call And I left her that night because I knew she would miss me The next time I saw her I knew she would kiss me We're young and alive Let's reach for the sky We're young and alive and we're free I made a decision to follow my intuition It had a better precision than I had ever envisioned It rained hard that night, but I dried in the sun The next morning I woke up and heard the beat of a drum I said question your beliefs, things aren't always how they seem, do something different and follow your dream She did what she most wanted and she gave me a kiss She said she would never forget any of this We're young and alive Let's reach for the sky We're young and alive and we're free
